Thursday
Today was to be another Train Adventure Day! Our trip to Stirling had gone well, and so this time we thought we’d go check out Glasgow. Like most people, we had heard things about the city – not all of it good – but we wanted to see for ourselves what the city had to offer. Once off the train, we wandered the streets, poking our heads around corners and down alleys.
Trongate
We actually had an ulterior motive to in Glasgow: there was an Imax theater there, and we wanted to see Oppenheimer on the big screen. Getting to the Imax required us to walk along the River Clyde and through some less-than-pleasant areas. Well, things looked good until you actually paid attention what was going on in the bushes.
Lovely bridges in Glasgow
The movie was good, but certainly not worthy of an IMAX experience. Still, it had been an informative and interesting trip. The waterfront was nice, and there was a lot of new construction while maintaining some very cool old buildings. In the end, it was “Better than expected, but not nice enough to return”
