Home, sweet home. It was our last day on the road. We planned to ride together for the first couple of hours, but then we’d split up for our respective homes.

Yep – that’s a bike path there in the foreground

Massive building project in Ehingen (expansion for crane manufacturer Liebherr-Werk)

The road from Ulm to Tuttlingen was nice, but it was also a main route and the amount of traffic and trucks made it almost unpleasant. I was leading today, and while I could have routed us on some quieter side roads, this was going to be a long riding day and I wanted to get home early afternoon. So we sucked it up until we reached Tuttlingen, found a bakery, and said our good byes.

My route home was a partial duplication of my route on the first day, but as usual, the scenery always looks different coming from another direction.

Back into the chaos of the Schwarzwald and Ricky Racers

It was a smooth ride and I was able to put the bike in the garage by 14:00 – plenty of time to do some laundry and pet the kitties. Until next, ride safe!
